Bank Of Canada Raises Interest Rates As Economy Recovers

As we were all getting our beauty sleep last night, the Bank Of Canada was busy raising the interest rates by .025%.  The lowest variable rate currently at prime -0.70%, the new rate still gives us a rate of 2.05%, still a pretty good rate, allowing for many opportunities.   There are talks of raising the rates once again at the end of the year by another 1/2%. 

If you or someone you know are considering buying a house this year, this is the time to get out there! There are lots of great properties in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, waiting for someone to grasp the opportunity. Is it you? Perdications are that our economy will be back at full capacity by the end of 2011.

This Left Us Totally At A Loss For Words.....Good Thing It Is Speechless Sunday!

They say you never know what goes on behind closed doors, well that includes sealed walls! This post could go on and on, about the benefits of maintenance and looking after your property in a timely fashion.  It could also go on and on about when doing a job, do it right, never just put a band aid on it. But we'll leave that to our illustrious home inspectors here on Active Rain.

A small drip was noticed around the bottom of a toilet, hmmmm, was the toilet sweating or is there in fact a leak somewhere? Investigation proved there was a leak.

Well let's get to it and put in a new seal and tighten everything up. Nope, didn't even get that far, before it was discovered there was an issue with the toilet's shut off valve. This could be a long post, so we'll just cut right to the chase. The problem lead to opening up the ceiling underneath the affected toilet.

That's when we saw it, that's when we stood there gaping at what was revealed, that's when we went speechless, totally and utterly speechless.

Not likely any inspector would have found this mess.

Who could do such a thing? What were they doing? What were they thinking?

We were driving north on Highway 27, just north of Highway 9 when we spotted a car broken down.  A young man standing by the car told us the driver couldn't wait he had a date at Suzie Q's just up the road.

Looking at the car, we had our suspicions.

We headed up the road and before you know it we found Susie Q's.

We searched around for Fred, but couldn't find him.  Susie said she saw him going off into the field with Dorothy.  We thought, Dorothy who?  Then we saw this guy...

We thought this place is a little crazy for us, so we grabbed our fries and hit the road.

The Best Little Park In The Greater Toronto Ontario Canada Area

What park was named the Favourite Small Park in the Greater Toronto Area, (better known as the GTA)? It is Brampton, Ontario, Canada's own Boreham Park.  Nestled in the quiet Villages of Heart Lake surrounded by the prestigious homes of Parklane Estates, at Kennedy Road N and Conservation Drive is Boreham Park, a tiny little park that the local children love. 

Boreham Park once a farmer's field that was developed into a park back in the 1970's, that today is complete with sand, slides, swings and monkey bars is a 1.2 hectare area, identified as a historical site in Brampton. In an online poll of 20 small parks throughout the GTA, Boreham was voted the best by Toronto Star (a major newspaper) readers.

Lucky are the residents of Parklane Estates to have the GTA's favourite little park right in their own neighbouhood.

Enough Is Enough Is Enough.....Want To Watch A Great Movie?

Look for 'Enough', starring Jennifer Lopez and Jim Caviezel.  It's not a new movie, it was released in 2002, but 'Enough' is a fantastic thriller movie claiming everyone has a limit. How true. 

We saw this movie before when it first came out and enjoyed it's high energy entertainment. Last night was one of those nights, what will we do or will we watch a movie and if so what?

We were glad we settled on a movie and we were glad we decided on 'Enough', we enjoyed it the second time as much as the first time.

One month ago today, June 11, 2010 it all started.  64 matches were scheduled between 32 nations, looking for 1 champion. 

Today, July 11, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Soccer City Stadium Game 64 will be played.  It took until the 116th minute in the match for Spain to put the ball in the net and become the new World Cup 2010 Champions.  This is Spain's first time in their history to take the gold cup home.

World Cup 2010 -  3rd Place Winner Germany

Uruguay and Germany gave us exactly what we were looking for.  Lots of action despite the pouring rain.  It looked like Uruguay was going to take the third place finish, but Germany fought back to out score them 3 - 2.

Uruguay played strong throughout the series and can go home holding their heads high... well done Uruguay.

Congratulations Germany, you played hard and came back from being down 2 - 1.
