Wordless Wednesday Almost

Wordless Wednesday Almost

As the World Cup 2010 is revving up we wanted to remind you to stop and smell the roses.  Better still, try taking golf up.  If you golf like us, you will get places and see things that weren't really part of the planned round.

Came across this Toad Stool, look close and you see a couple of soccer fans here too.

Let The Games Begin - World Cup 2010, Day 6

Let The Games Begin - World Cup 2010, Day 6

Day 5 of World Cup 2010 brought the much anticipated Brazil team to the field.  It was expected that they would run away with the game, yet were lucky to win.

New Zealand and Slovakia played to a 1 - 1 tie, Ivory Coast and Portugal tied, but didn't make the score board 0 - 0, Brazil squeaked a 2 - 1 win over North Korea.

Wednesday June 16, 2010 World Cup 2010 enters Day 6.

Maybe today with the final four teams hitting the fields we will see a team that really wants to win the Cup.  So far they have all just been putting in time.  It's time to start playing like you want to win.  It's not the new Niki ball or shoes that will win or lose the game.  It will be the team that plays to win that will come out on top.

Game 15 will be between Honduras and Chile and played at Mbombela  (Nelspruit), with a capacity for the World Cup of 43,500.

Game 16 will be between Spain and Switzerland at Moses Mabhida Stadium (Durban), with a capacity for the World Cup of 70,000.

At this point all teams have now played their first game.  Now, let's get on with the games and find the best team.

Game 17 will be between South Africa and Uruguay at Loftus Versfeld Stadium (Pretoria), with a capacity for the World Cup of 49,365.

How about a quick quiz, what flag belongs to what country... good luck.

Stop The Highrises in Heart Lake, Brampton, Ontario, OMB Stuns The City of Brampton

Stop The Highrises in Heart Lake, Brampton, Ontario, OMB Stuns The City of Brampton

The City of Brampton and citizens from the Heart Lake and surrounding areas met on Sunday June 6, 2010 in the afternoon in protest of the OMB (Ontario Municipal Board) decision to allow developers to construct several highrise buildings on a small parcel of land on the north west corner of Sandalwood Parkway and Conestoga Drive.

Thousands gathered to listen to Mayor Susan Fennell, Regional Councillor Paul Palleschi, City Councillor John Hutton and several others share their concerns if the OMB refuses to revise their decision.  In the meantime the City of Brampton has a court date in July to appeal the OMB's decision.

There were long lines of people waiting to sign petitions, the day was a peaceful gathering with several different signs telling of the local citizens concerns.

Stay tuned, it is not over until the fat lady sings...
