You Like Free Don't You? How About Free Movies?

Who doesn't like free and especially free movie tickets!  Right now General Mills is offering free Cineplex movies on their specially marked boxes of Multi-grain Cherrios. Hey, multi-grain is good for you anyway, so that's a trifector! Your morning cereal, multi-grain that's good for you and a free Cineplex movie!

The free Cineplex movies are offered for the month of April, they buy you a free bag of popcorn in May, in June it's a buy one get one free Cineplex movie ticket and in July General Mills buys you a small pop. 

We found this offer from General Mills in a Walmart store in the Toronto, Ontario area, check your local area to see if the offer applies.

Better hurry though, last year when General Mills offered this, the specially marked Multi-grain Cherrios boxes flew off the shelves.

The Results Are In and Have Been Reported

Earth Hour has come and gone for another year, but we hope the affects and awareness last all year. 

Earth Hour 2010 saw a reduction in power of 4%.  It doesn't sound like much, but in this report from MSN, they claim that was enough to power the City of Brampton.  The City of Brampton has a population of more than 450,000 residents and in excess of 266 square miles.  That is a lot of area to power up and people's needs to fulfill.

It proves that in reality that was indeed quite a saving of resources in only just one hour of one single day. 

Can you imagine what we could actually save if we did this every day, for just one hour? What can you do?

It's Good News In Oshawa, Ontario, Canada

It was hurrays and high five's here in Oshawa, Ontario Canada yesterday, as GM recalled approximately 600 workers back to work and about a 100 more to the Ingersoll plant! 

It's been a long haul for the over 2600 employees that were shed last year when the truck plant closed.  It may seem like a drop in the bucket, but at least its a step in the right direction. 

The jobs are being created to handle the new demand for the popular 'crossover' vehicles. There is hope of a third shift being required for the Fall.

Between this news and the strong Spring real estate market, things are looking pretty good so far in 2010!

We Are On The Countdown To Earth Hour, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada! 

On March 14th we reminded you of Earth Hour 2010.  Join the forces of more than 92 other countries, Saturday March 27th at 8:30 p.m. by turning off your lights and reducing the usage of any other power possible.

This was a single event held in Sydney Australia back in 2007 and is now observed by hundreds of millions of people across the world. The goal of Earth Hour is raise global awareness about the climate change.  Last year in 2009, only about 52% of Canadians participated in Earth Hour. We are hoping to raise that number this year. 

Please do your part. Not just on Saturday March 27, 2010 but each and every hour of every day.

Here are a few tips to help:

•  Use less lights and consider replacing the light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs
•  Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible
•  Invest in power bars
  
•  Use reusable bags at the stores
•  Turn down the heat and turn up the air conditioner
•  Let's get back to using outdoor clotheslines

Here we go! In less than 24 hours. Stand up and be counted by turning off your lights during Earth Hour Saturday March 27th from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. and show the Earth and the generations to come that you care.

As we write this post it is 32ºF, the Sun rose at 7:18 am but you wouldn't know it on this overcast day. 

Our subject today looks like he is having one of those "blue days".
