Today was sunny and bright, it felt good to go through the car wash and know it was going to stay clean, ...., at least for a little while!

Then we spotted this little girl trying to peak through the snow and she got us dreaming of Spring!

Say It Isn't So, Who Is Going To Cheer The Superball XLV - We're Speechless This Sunday!

What do Greenbay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, The Cleveland Browns, The Chicago Bears, The New York Giants and the The Detroit Lions all have in common? All of these teams don't have cheerleaders.   
 
What!!?? We are not sure if this is going to be a first or not, but no cheerleaders at the Superball XLV Football game?  Usually we enjoy two cheer leading squads at the Super Bowl games, but this year not even one to encourage the boys.  The funny thing is this year's Superbowl is being hosted in Dallas, Texas, the home of the famous Dallas Cheerleaders!!

The fans better carry the ball on this one and yell their hearts out! Maybe the Dallas 'girls' will be in the stands giving the odd cheer.

How Long Do I Have To Make My Mind Up In Brampton, Ontario, Canada

How long do we have to make up our minds about the offer? or When we will hear anything about the offer? These are questions we often hear on an offer presentation.  While we believe in striking while the iron is hot, and giving the other party an answer as quickly as possible, the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (the offer) itself will answer that question.

Line 1 on the Agreement of Purchase and Sale will state date and time restrictions. When a Buyer first submits an offer, they actually decide how long they will wait for the Sellers decision.  The Buyer is only committed to the offer until that time and date they insert on Line 1 as their irrevocable time line. Which means, they are bound to the offer until that time passes or the Seller changes it.    

During an offer, this irrevocable date can change many times by both the Buyer and Seller, as the offer goes back and forth with each parties desires. The irrevocable date also requires that all necessary signatures and initials are on the offer before the time expires.

It's All About MeMe.....Really? and Our Big Hairy Audacious Goal

Wow this is a real toughie, but we were tagged by Anita Clark, Ed Silva, Steve Chain and Chris Smith and we like to think we are good sports, up for anything, so we're jumping into the MeMe challenge!

There is nothing interesting in our backgrounds we are true blue Candians, born and bred here, both of us.  My Grandmother was a mail order bride though, brought over from England and we always found that very fascinating.

Against all our family and friends advice we threw all our eggs in one basket and both of us got into this real estate game full time with the only income coming 100% from the commissions we earned, gutsy thinking back now when you have a family and mortgage!

Initially we worked totally separate, doing our own things and teamed up quite by fluke before teams were popular. We went on one appointment together because of time restraints created by a personal obligation. The clients loved the idea that we were husband and wife working the same business, our two view points, and how we bounced ideas back and forth. It went so well, we tried it again with the same result and thought why not.  Working together has served us well.

We opened our own real estate business and had three offices, before realizing our passion was truly in the selling. With this knowledge we closed our business and moved over to Re/Max Realty Services Inc. and have not looked back.

Our greatest career thrill, is being asked to be one of ten agents in Canada to be part of Re/max's top 100 agents invited by Dave Liniger, one of the founders of Re/Max International to Denver back in the mid '90's. Our greatest honour is being voted in 2010, by the residents of the City of Brampton as the "Best People in Real Estate" for 15th time out of the 16 years they have been voting.  

Our son and daughter being raised in a household where real estate was the main topic of conversation, found they had real estate in their veins and have followed our footsteps. Our slogan "Let Our Family Help Your Family" is really true.  

Now for the real tough part, the BHAG! The goal has always been to be organized, to run the business instead of it running us so much and to be able to take the months of July and December totally off. We don't really know why those months, we just picked them. It has never worked out, there is usually something on the go or maybe we are just control freaks.  We'll have to get back to you on that one!

National Wear It Pink Day - January 26, 2011!

Come on everyone here is something you can do that doesn't cost a thing but will help raise the awareness about all types of cancers afflicting women. Tomorrow Wednesday January 26, 2011 is National Wear It Pink Day! What a great colour to wear to raise your spirits in the dead of winter anyway! Hey guys, you look great with a splash of pink too!

Cancer is a terrible disease as we all know, every thing we can do to support the fight should be done. As a company Re/Max International and as Agents we support and donate to Breast Cancer Foundation.

Pay It Forward - Project Winter Survival For The Homeless

Project Winter Survival was founded 11 years ago by Jody Steinhaur. We are sure they couldn't use more help than they can today with these sub zero temperatures. In 2009 they made up 2500 packages for the homeless to guard against them freezing to death on the streets! As we snuggle beside a roaring fireplace with a steaming hot chocolate, we can't even begin to imagine what it is like out there in the elements with only a few blankets, worn out clothes and empty stomach. 

We heard on the radio they need our help again this year.  They need unused back packs, winter gloves, new insulated beverage cups with lids, blankets, pillows.

You can also donate money. 100% of the money donated will buy these much needed items and you will be issued a tax receipt from the Salvation Army. This year you can even do it through PayPal. 

Donations can be dropped off: Take the 401 East (if driving from the west) or the 401 West (if driving from the east) to Keele Street Exit. Exit South. Get into the left lane. Go South to Lawrence Avenue West. Turn Left at the lights at Lawrence. Go East to Caledonia. Turn Right on Caledonia.Go South on Caledonia for approximately 1-1/2 blocks. When you see the Canadian flag you are there, 890 Caledonia is on your right hand side, with lots of free parking or mail to Bargain's Group 890 Caledonia Road, Toronto, Ontario. Speechless Sunday - Brrrrr!

Baby it's cold outside, even though the sun is shining so brightly! The weather forecasters warned us we would be in a deep freeze this weekend, but it still didn't prepare us for the bone numbing -1F today! That is -18.333333 Celsius for us Canadians!!!

Sorry but we didn't stop to take any pictures!! The good thing about it is, this is usually what we experience in February, so maybe we are a month ahead and Spring is even closer!

Now, can you tell us why it makes you so sleepy, once you get back indoors??
