In our little area of the City of Brampton, they are promising us that it will be the biggest and best Canada Day celebrations we have ever seen!  The all day event hosted at the Chinguacousy Park starts at 10 a.m. and will run through til 10:30 p.m. All kinds of activities for the kids, Amanda Marshall is going to make an appearance for the adults and then it will all be finished off to a huge display of fireworks.
Visit - http://www.brampton.ca/canadaday/home.tml for road closing information and full celebration details.

Close by the City of Vaughn will be celebrating with face painting, outdoor stage performances and of course all the activities at the fun filled Canada's Wonderland Park. http://www.canadaswonderland.com/#actions There will be 4000 custom explosions of fireworks set to music, you won't want to miss! For more details go to http://www.city.vaughan.on.ca/vaughan/vaughan_celebrates/canada_day.htm

If you want to take a road trip, just an hour and half drive north/east of Brampton, in the quiet little City of Orillia, more Canada Day planning is underway. Their celebrations will begin with a huge parade down the main city street to the Couchiching Beach Park. There will be military reenactments with cannon fire, a red & white Farmers Market, Canadian Citizenship court ceremonies right in the park, a mammoth red & white birthday cake large enough for all to enjoy a piece and the day will be closed off with fireworks. More information is found here - http://www.orilliacanadaday.ca/

Currently all the stores are selling Red & White Canada Day paraphernalia from flags, bags, gadgets, clothes and trinkets.

Wear your Red and White proudly and get out there and celebrate!

Al and Peggy - Sounds like it will be fun at your end of the Greater Toronto Area.  I will need to do a blog posting on activities on my side of the GTA.

Hey Marc, great! we left the "east" side for you! Will be over soon.

Hi Guys,

Great info for your area.  I have no clue what is happening here in Oakville.  Guess I should check it out.

I had to read that title twice before I realized that it was Canada Day instead of Canada Dry. Somehow, though, I bet there is some Canada Dry being consumed on Canada Day. So Happy Canada Day!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Canada's Day. Do y'all have fireworks shows, too, or is that just we Americans who waste money like that?
