What countries are the worst at registering children?
We have six questions for you, just how versed are you with your facts and figures?

2. _00,000 number of undocumented children in (what country).
3. _,000,000 number of (name the nationality) lacking birth certificates in 2004.
4. _ _% births in (what country), 2000-08, that went unregistered.
5. _ _% children born in area hospitals in (what city), (what country), that went without birth certificates.
6. _% babies born in (what country) and (what country) are documented.
Those without birth certificates can be denied papers to travel, marriage certificates or even the right to drive.
As children become adults, not having proper birth papers impacts owning land, opening a bank account or casting a vote.
Not having a proper paper trail, often allows children to more easily be used as child labour or in the sex trade.
Illegal adoptions are made easier with no formal paper trail.
Children without birth certificates often go without proper health benefits or continued schooling.

I can't even begin to guess but it is sad that there would be that many births that could result in people literally being considered nothing. Sad in this day. I'll check in tomorrow the real Wednesday for the answer.
Those are tough questions. There are so many 3rd world countries but here are my guesses:
1) 30
2) 5 - India
3) 1 China
4) 30% India
5) 60% Bengledesh (sp?)
6) 99.5% US & France
Question 6 was a bit vague so I took the easy answer
Hi Ed and Jim, these stats just blew us away when we heard about these little babies being born and no one seeming to give a care... or well maybe they do, just not about the child's welfare. You wonder how in 2009 this can be happening?

I am visiting these post in the reverse order. So many obstacles and likely unhappy events are awaiting all those unfortunate children with no formal paper trail. It is very sad especially after seeing the high number you posted in the post with answers.
