Al and Peggy's Corner: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE and we truly hope it is for each and everyone of you.

But as we scurried around yesterday, doing our last minute shopping and planning for today's event, we noticed a few tired, sad, worried looking people. It gave us pause when we realized not everyone is as fortunate to be able to enjoy a day of rest with their loved ones as we were. A day we took for granted.

There are people who had to get up today, leave their families and go to work like any other day
. Police, firefighters, hospital staff, restaurant servers and as we found out in tourist land, some souvenier shop & grocery store clerks.

So we raise a toast and give a prayer of thanks to those that gave up their time with THEIR family and loved ones today, just for all of us.

Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you with our heartfelt thanks.  We hope you know how much you are appreciated.

Hear, hear! Those are wonderful thoughts for the people who work despite special holidays or occasions! Thank you Al & Peggy!

Thanks Guy. It must be sad for those people who must work or lose their jobs, and heart wrentching for the people in the armed forces and totally separated from their loved ones by miles.

Your welcome Katie, those people work today to keep us safe and secure while we enjoy our loved ones. Sad that they are seldom recognized for what they do.

Wanda where would a lot of people be if those services were not available  on holidays. But store clerks, should be allowed the day off. We were out of shrimp sauce but we could do without it so they could enjoy their day!

Hi Al and Peggy - Hope you had a fantastic Christmas.  We had a beautiful wet rainy Christmas with rain for hours and hours as well as a lot of wind in the evening across the GTA.

I would have visited you this afternoon since you said to call when I was 10 minutes away, which I was, but you were way down south. :)  Perhaps next time, eh?

Al and Peggy,

I hope you had a great Christmas day down South!   I hear that it is warmer at Marco Island.   I look forward to seeing some of your photos from there!   :)
