New Year's Resolutions... Broken Promises! Are You In That Boat?
Hello Active Rain and Friends,
Did you make yourself a promise to lose weight or just to get into shape this year. How's it going?
Like millions we climbed aboard the "Good Ship Lose Some Pounds". The problem is the ship keeps coming into port, you know, you wake up and think... "I can't do this today".
We try to get up every morning, Al on the recumbent bike and Peggy on the treadmill. Depending on the tension on the bike or the incline on the treadmill will determine how long you go. We are up to 32 minutes a day. Don't worry about the time, we heard recently anything over 42 minutes is a waste. So don't use time as your excuse for not exercising.
We like to use a music video to keep us in step or stride depending on your type of exercising.
Now, we have never had any formal training in weight loss or getting into shape but can tell you that over the years we have lost hundreds of pounds... only problem is they came back and brought some friends. It always seems the friends are growing faster than our Facebook page.
Here is a great video to watch as you exercise, some of you will remember Meat Loaf... he is truly a great singer and performer. You may have to search to find this video but it is well worth the $25-30 it will cost.

We found this short commercial for GoPhone that will bring back memories to you, who Meat Loaf is, have a listen.

Wow Al and Peggy...this wins for the cutest post of the week for me. Had me chuckling. I do know who Meat Loaf is....don't if that is good or bad! Cute post! Showing it to my husband. This is the year of health and fitnes for us as well!
Hello Al and Peggy, sadly enough, my new year's resolution did not work out that well. I'm gearing up for my April Fool's days resolutions though, maybe they will be more successful.
I've found the Latin music channel on our cable network and dance foolish around the house. It tires me out, makes me look like an idiot to my family but I feel good after 15 minutes of fancy footwork and fist pumping :-)
Thanks for stopping by Jeanean... glad you liked it.
Malcolm, never give up, just jump back in. Will be watching for you April Fool's resolutions.
Cindy, thanks for the spam fairy info... gave her the "D". Maybe all your AR friends would like to see you in action. Get that video out. We all need inspiration to keep going.
Well, I don't make them, so I can't break them.
As you know Al & Peggy I did not make any "New Years" resolutions, and also as you know, I am definitely attempting to improve my health this year... thanx for your "motivation" =)
Al & Peggy, I like Meat Loaf a lot and love that tune, thanks for the tip I'll check out that video.
I gave up on New Year Resolutions long ago. I wonder why we don't resolve to gain weight. That's one I could do without a problem!
Al & Peggy, What a great find on the video! I used to (and still do!) love that song. I started to keep up my exercising but got bored because it's inside and I often do the same thing....put music on and dance :)
Cool Video. Like the tune...
Oh Irene, if I could figure out who it was that gave the gift of 'love handles' for Christmas, I would return them!!
Wii Fit helps the inbetween days Carole and its great fun, til she cries when you step on the little step!!
Glad you liked it Michael, we thought it was probably a hard job for Meatloaf to see new words to an old tune!
Al & Peggy, I'm sure you know there are a couple of other "Mercury" videos...love the one with the kids in the front row.
