Al and Peggy's Corner: Have You Ever Got Caught Between A Rock and A Hard Place?

Have You Ever Got Caught Between A Rock and A Hard Place?

Have You Ever Got Caught Between A Rock and A Hard Place?

If you have, no problem.  Here's an idea a local artist had when he found himself in such a predicament.  With the help of a few tools, lots of patients and a couple of years of hard work, he turned that big old ugly rock into a piece of art.

What do you see?  Give yourself one point for each symbol you find and two extra points if you know where it is located?   Let's see who gets the most points.

A rock with several things etched into it.

Al & Peggy, it's difficult for me to tell where one symbol leaves off and another begins.  I'll say 5 symbols and Canada.  I have no clue where it's at, but I like it.

Al and Peggy - You didn't define the meaning of the word "symbol".  I can find a lot of symbols using my definition.  Are we playing for ActiveRain points?

Closer, stare closer George, just a little bit closer....

Ya but what are the symbols Nick? Canada yes, its pretty cool isn't it. Wish we had his kind of patience though

Playing for Active Rain points that would be great wouldn't it Marc. Nah, these are just for fun virtual points they you can turn in for proxy  and system errors LOL

Al and Peggy - I REALLY like that rock!  When you stop to think about it, in a few hundred years from now, that rock will likely be as admired as the hierglyphics left by our ancient ones:-)

Absolutely Myrl, that was certainly alot of pounding on the rocks. BTW thanks that was the word we had been trying to think of LOL!

Al & Peggy, now you want me to tell you what the symbols mean???   Seriously guys, you over estimate my cognitive/intellectual/perceptual and deductive skills...but ok.

1.) Turtle is the obvious one.
2.) Face of a demon/god/mask to ward off evil or me after a hard night partying.
3.) A creepy crawly thing or a duck bill platypus.
4.) A grotesque erect standing figure near a tree and...I just realized this is a public post, so
I had edit out the remainder of #4.
5.) Moose antlers
6.) I did say six didn't I...I'm sure I did, anyway...the symbol in the top picture smack dab in the
in the middle of the rock is obviously a metaphor of mans struggle for discovery. It's a map
of his wanderings his quest for discovery and yet he goes no where...he can't find his way off the
rock.  Or it's a geometry project gone awry.

I poke fun, but I really do like it.

Well, since we're playing for points that can be turned in for proxy errors and bad gateways, I'M NOT PLAYING! LOL

That's a gorgeous rock! I wonder if there's a loonie anywhere on that rock. LOL
