Let The Games Begin - World Cup 2010, Day 9
Day 8 of World Cup 2010 brought again some unexpected results.
Serbia defeated Germany 1 - 0, United States fought back to tie Slovenia 2 - 2, and England and Algeria didn't make the scoreboard in their 0 - 0 match.
Saturday June 19, 2010 World Cup 2010 enters Day 9.
Today the 24th match will be played reaching the half way mark of the 48 matches in Round 1. So far Argentina is the only team to have two wins giving them 6 points and the lead.
Game 24 will be between Ghana and Australia and played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium (Phokeng), with a capacity for the World Cup of 42,000. Game 26 will be between Cameroon and Denmark at Loftus Versfeld Stadium (Pretoria), with a capacity for the World Cup of 49,365.
Game 25 will be between Netherlands and Japan and played at Moses Mabhida Stadium (Durban), with a capacity for the World Cup of 70,000.
How about a quick quiz, what flag belongs to what country... good luck.

Al & Peggy - I'm finally catching up on all the games I missed while at soccer camp and there are so many great teams this year. I think it's great that some underdogs are rising.
Al and peggy,
I agree with Michelle. The playing field seems to be more even. At least from the results so far, most of the favorites are doing worst than expected and most the underdogs are doing better than expected.
They certainly are Michelle, glad you got caught up and didn't miss the excitement!
Strange isn't it Gerry, guess the weeks ahead will tell!
Al and Peggy - Has anyone answered your flag quiz yet? Less than two weeks left until things start clearing up. :)
