CN Tower conducted a Communities in Bloom Garden at the base of the tower, inviting cities to participate with flowers from their respective cities.  Of course Brampton, Ontario, Canada; the City of Flowers, participated.

The bonus for the participating cities residents, is a discounted 'Total Tower Ticket'. Local Brampton, Ontario, Canada and the other participating cities can purchase the 'Total Tower Ticket' with proof of residency for $26.00 including taxes instead of the normal $38.00 including taxes, from now until December 31, 2010. Some fascinating facts of our famous CN Tower are that the official opening was on October 1, 1976.  Approximately 1537 people worked on the construction of it, taking approximately 40 months, at a cost of 63 million dollars.  Can you imagine the cost to construct the CN Tower today?

Hi Al and Peggy...we never made it up the tower one January, but we did go through a home show next door on very cool January. Being from Victoria, we bought Long Underwear to come to -40 C Toronona city in Jaunary, only to learn everyone one wears thermo snow suits and peels them off when they go indoors to malls and home shows...we were roasting in +85 C temperature while everyone was in their shorts

Hi Al and Peggy - I haven't been up the CN Tower which is named after the Canadian National Railway in many many years.  It may be a good time to go up to both the Observation Deck and the Space Deck and take some great photography since our Toronto skyline has changed so much since 1976.
