Taking A Road Trip This Civic Holiday Weekend?

Stephen Leacock (1869 - 1944) was a very famous, humourous fiction writer with an extremely interesting background.
This is the summer estate he occupied when alive.  It is nestled in a beautiful, picturesque setting overlooking Lake Couchiching on Old Brewery Bay in Orillia, Ontario, Canada.

Al & Peggy--great photo invitation.  Enjoy the Civic Holiday & have a wonderful weekend, too.

I might have cut back that big tree but the path and plantings make up for the partially obstructed house view.

Al and Peggy I love the way that tree forms what looks like a tunnel over that walk way.  Beautiful property.

Until I read the comments, I didn't notice the tree, but that's incredible.

You should see it in actual life Josh, we just know you would love the building and architecture.

If you're taking a road trip Mary, this maybe a place to consider!

Funny when we were walking that path Ellen, we never really noticed the tree, the house and gardens kept us captive.

It is such a serene location George...maybe you will get a chance to see this whenever you come up and visit the CN Tower!

We'll be honest Brian, neither did we and we were there in person!

The walk and flowers welcomes you to a great old house. Would love to visit.

Al and Peggy,

That is a beutiful estate and it's easy to see that it was inspirational for a writer. :)

Al and Peggy: I have walked this property twice and both times, being a Leacock fan, can see where and why he had a great sense of humour.

Hope you had a great weekend Al & Peggy.  We went to the African Lion Safari today.  Apparently we weren't the only ones... It was very crowded...  but a great day =)

I'm wondering what a "Civic Holiday Weekend" is. I was thinking Honda Civic.

I'd love to wander around in the gardens, or just up and down that front walkway.
