The Autumnal Equinox- Fall Season of Change For Us!
Today, September 22nd, is the first day of Fall (as marked on our calendars) the fall equinox; so we thought it appropriate to celebrate this beautiful time of year by entering Sally Cheesemen's Fall Season Of Change Contest
The signs are in the trees already...

We just took this shot of the moon as night approaches...
This year, tonight, Fall is welcomed in with a beautiful Super Harvest Moon.
It is called a super harvest moon because Jupiter can be seen next to the moon without the need of binoculars. This is an amazing phenomenon that is rarely seen and should not be ignored. In some parts of the world the harvest moon is a day of family reunion, known as the Moon Cake Festival.
Fall signals change for us in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, as we turn in our flip flops, shorts & tank tops and change to closed in shoes, long pants & jackets.
The lush green of summer makes way for the beautiful wide array of firey coloured leaves, the sticky humid days turn refreshingly crisp and cooler. Yes, the season is changing again, and quickly here in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
As we do our Fall yard clean up, trimming the rebellious branches and stems that grew in the wrong direction, pulling out the dead plants and tidying up the gardens for their winter sleep; it emphasizes to us, the clean up and changes we need to make within ourselves. It's time to pick up that exercise routine again, make those phone calls we put off, revive our marketing plan, stop procrastinating and organize that office once and for all. Clean up your act as well as your gardens and yard.
Fall is an excellent time for change, to strip off the dead wood, strip off the strategies that just aren't working and implement new ones, revitalize and start planning for a successful new year.
Yes, Fall is a wonderful season for change, changes for the better. Let's all celebrate Autumn this year with changes, good changes, laying foundations for better seasons ahead. For ways to celebrate the Fall equinox watch this short video. Why wait for the new year to put plans in motion? Fall into them right now!

Good evening you two! I enjoyed this - Thanks! Cute video. And you are right on, clean up our acts too!
Hi Al and Peggy - I saw the super harvest moon but didn't see Jupiter as I was driving at the time. Thanks for the challenge reminder.
Hey Christine! You are welcome and the longer we tidied up the garden the longer our self improvement list got LOL!
Now Marc, how are we ever going to stay ahead of you if you enter all the contests we do??? LOL! Isn't the moon gorgeous? Well get out there and find Jupiter its the big bright star looking thing beside the moon. This is a rarity, history!!
Al & Peggy,
A most excellent post. I really enjoyed the fall photos.
Steve
Hey Al and Peggy - You don't need to worry about me. The gap between you and me has WIDENED by 10,000 points in the past three months. I think you enter a few more contests than me. That, plus a couple of other items.
Hi Al & Peggy! What gorgeous photos! I took a look at the Harvest Moon tonight too and didn't snap a photo of it. Maybe I'll do that before I turn in!
Love your goals too--start that cleaning now so that you're ahead of the game--before the holidays!
Hey kids, yes we are definitely into the final stretch. We had no moon last night because of a sever thunder storm, must have been the transitional fireworks. Our colors won't start for another couple of weeks, and we shouldn't expect to see brilliant colors as we had such a dry summer.
And now you know the rest of the story... Cool...
Al & peggy, I can't believe the color in your trees already! Tomorrow we are expecting 80 degree weather, I'd like a piece of fall. And yes, Time for change!
Al and Peggy,
It will be nice to see the changing of the colours over the next few weeks.
Brian
We have more vibrant colours coming Steve, just hang around for the photos....how about in your neck of the woods, lots of colours?
LOL! No, we haven't Marc, think you beat us out on July 4th LOL!! Just doing the daily grind ;)
Wasn't that super harvest moon spectacular Debe!
Ahh, you had the thunder storm action we had the night before Ed! Well let's hope you get a few colours because that is what makes Fall so beautiful!
LOL! We wrote that post for the contest last week Michael and decide to wait til the official day of Fall. When we read yours after our posting, we thought, were you looking over our shoulder or were we looking over yours LOL!
That tree was a shock to us too Ellen because we were in the 80's on Tuesday and the mid 70's yesterday, strange the tree changed like that!
Can wait Brian it is one of our favourite times of the year, next to Spring and Summer LOL, winter well yes, but not so much.
Luckily the sky was very clear last night, and I did get a good look at the Harvest moon. I can't help thinking of the Neil Young song Harvest Moon It doesn't get any more Canadian than that.
Looks like you got some motivation too!
LOL! Malcolm!! Had forgot old Neil singing that song!! Now we can get it out of our heads! We were lucky to have such a clear night last night Malcolm, look how much harder it is to see it tonight!
Absolutely Sally, so thank you for the boost!
It sure is not going to feel like fall today, Al and Peggy, but I have seen some trees changing. For us, we always take at least one long fall drive to some part of Ontario, trying to tie it in with a fall fair, if possible. I love fall =)
