Friday Foto, Escaped....For Now....
We had visitors drop by today, and they were all excited and happy to have escaped our fellow Americans Thanksgiving!
This is what these visitors were talking about as we were feeding them their usual corn....
Gertrude was saying "Tom called the other night from the United States and said he doesn't understand why people want to eat Turkey for Thanksgiving when chicken is so much better! He reminded us that Christmas is coming up in a few weeks and we better find a hide away!"

Now there are some lucky turkeys...for now!
Al & Peggy: As your country has done before... you have provided a much-needed sanctuary for those who were threatened with extinction. Bless you all. <smile>
Looks like the mama did a good job to protect her babies. Bye for now........
Yes, Jerri, that's why they are running! They know!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Karen Anne!
She is very protective Rita, and the little ones are so cute.
Maybe you can start a movement to have chicken for Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays!
Great shot! They always seem to travel in large packs. Have a great weekend!
I still think the chicken should replace the eagle as our national bird! I love chicken!
Al and Peggy that looks like future Thanksgiving Dinners. Make sure you guys up there in Canada get them nice and plump, and then send them back down to us ........... LOL
Those ten little ones have a long way to go before they'll be considered for dinner. Maybe next year. But mama, well she looks about ready! But her kids would miss her. Let them run wild.
Al and Peggy,
Ha! I guess it makes sense...turkeys heading North for Thanksgiving.
Rich
Al & Peggy, Those are some very fortunate friends you have there. Thursday was a good day for a turkey to not be in the USA.
Hey Al and Peggy - I think these turkeys are close friends or even relatives of the wild turkey in my Happy Thanksgiving America post and earlier Happy Thanksgiving post for Canada. Make sure they don't read the comment you made in my Butterball hotline post (or maybe they should!).
Good morning Al & Peggy. I saw a flock of turkeys with "Canada or Bust" on their luggage...
Going North for the winter...now that's a novel idea that may just catch on. ;-)
Al & Peggy,
Talking turkeys; what will those Canadians think of next...
Steve
Al & Peggy - Escaped just in time is right, this was the first Thanksgiving in a long time that we had turkey.
Al and Peggy, Haven't seen many turkey my way lately (I know they here ;-) There was a dusting of snow in my backyard and I noticed a group of about twelve deer across the road filling up on the cutting in the field across the road.
Al and Peggy,
Does look like they are getting to walk around freely. :)
Steve
Al & Peggy, they escaped this year, but watch out next Turkey Day. Hey a big congrats for passing the 500K milestone...you guys are machines!
Al and Peggy, I've always wondered what these guys would taste like. I mean this is the ultimate "free range" bird.
